Parasha Thoughts
By Rabbi Shlomo Zargari
Shalom,
One of the famous verses in our parasha is ×ª×ž×™× ×ª×”×™×” ×¢× ×”×³ ×לקיך “You must be wholehearted with HaShem “(18,13). Alshech Hakadosh explains that there are those who keep the Torah and mitzvot publicly in the community, in synagogue and around the family. However, when they are all alone and no one is watching they’re more lenient in certain things. Regarding this the Torah prescribes “You must be wholehearted.” Your behavior should be wholesome even when it’s only you and HaShem, “with HaShem” as the rest of the verse is written.
In the beginning of the Shulhan Aruch ×ורח ×—×™×™× ×‘,ב it is brought down that one should not say, “I am in the inner room, who can see me?†because the holy one blessed be his name his glory fills the world!
